How to "Fit In" Getting Fit
There are tons of great exercises that you can do from the comfort of your own home while you have some spare time. So try doing a set of pushups while waiting for the water to boil or do plank exercises while binge watching your favorite show. Either way it's a great way to multitask!
Take a hike:
Or go for a walk. My point is to just go outside and get your blood pumping in the fresh air. Walking is such an underrated exercise and whether it be right around your neighborhood or trying out a different hiking trail, it's a great way to improve circulation and stay healthy.
Opt for the stairs:
Try to make it a personal challenge for yourself to only use the stairs whenever you have an option to use an elevator. Heck - you can even walk up and down the stairs of your own house as part of your daily exercise! It’s great cardio and gets your heart pumping!
There's an app for that:
There are so many great fitness apps to take advantage of right now or you can even go on YouTube to find a workout tutorial to suit your exact needs. There are so many options to choose from that your'e bound to find something that will fit your pace. My favorite thing to do is lookup yoga videos to follow along to right before I go to bed!
Exercise while you clean:
Cleaning the house is actually a great way to burn calories and get moving. Especially chores like vacuuming or scrubbing which have a high calorie burn and focus on your core strength. You can even check out how many calories each chore burns with this awesome calculator.
Join a team:
Sometimes we dread going to the gym for so many different reasons. However joining a local adult sports league could improve your mood as well as your health! Team sports are a lot more fun than going to a gym alone and it's a great way to get exercise while making new friends!
